Actinides and lanthanides solution chemistry in water stable Room Temperature Ionic Liquids
Status
| Terminated |
- Planned from March 2005 till September 2006 |
Goals
The goal of this joint research project is to characterise the solvation sphere of various actinides (U, Np, Pu, Th...) and lanthanides (Eu) in water stable Room Temperature Ionic Liquids (RTILs). In addition, the redox- and complexation reactions within these solvents will also be investigated.
Expected results
The results of this joint research project will enable a wider, more effective evaluation of the available RTILs and their utilisation in future An partitionning schemes. They will also help to focus future research on the selected RTILs.
