Synthesis and characterization of phosphate ceramics doped with actinides

Goals
The aim of this joint research project is to improve the understanding of actinide incorporation in ceramics, which are prepared through a detailed characterization of samples, doped with actinides at the micrometric scale. The focus lies on uranium, neptunium, plutonium and/or americium. Besides, the behaviour of monazites/brabantites and TPD under self-irradiation will also be investigated.
Expected results
The data of this joint research project will contribute to:
- the global knowledge of high-temperature actinide-bearing phosphate phases;
- the complete understanding of the incorporation of actinides.
