Magnetism, crystallography and electronic structure of UM2-xM'xT2-xT'x compounds (M=Ni, M'=Cu, T=Si, T'=Ge)

Goals

The goal of this joint research project is to:

  • provide experimental datasets on the crystallographic, magnetic and electronic structures of a systematic set of intermetallic UT2X2 compounds;
  • compare the resulting data to embedded cluster calculations.

Expected results

The results of this joint research project will contribute to a better understanding of the physicochemical nature of the 5f elements. They will also allow a better modelling of their behaviour, in all models that rely on physical parameters.
