Goals

The work for JRP 06-07 will be an essential part of the project JRP 05-17
“Development of analytical tools for speciation of plutonium and uranium ions: focus
on capillary electrophoresis coupled to ICP-MS”. The contribution is focused on
application and validation of CE-ICP-MS to plutonium speciation in various aqueous
solutions. This includes determination of oxidation states distribution in general and
plutonium complexation studies in organic carbon containing waters.

Expected results

The obtained results will be compared with results from other analytical techniques like UV-Vis (ordinary and liquid core wave-guide LCW), liquid-liquid-extraction, and ultracentrifugation.
