ACTINET Sorption Board - Managing Experiments, Models and Data
Status
| Terminated |
- Planned from March 2005 till February 2008 |
Goals
Although research and published results for sorption models are rapidly growing, there is a slow knowledge transfer into the application area. The objective of this joint research project is to set up an efficient organisation, that defines quality criteria and assists in the development of reference databases (through the integration of current activities on the European level).
Expected results
The results of this joint research project will facilitate international data exchange and standardization. They will also lead to recommendations of experimental and modelling procedures, approaches, codes and models. Moreover, they will also provide recommended sorption data, which can be used for performance assessment and related fields. As such, this joint research project contributes to:
- the promotion of both experimental and theoretical sorption research;
- knowledge transfer concerning modern sorption models;
- the encouragement of the involvement of predictive sorption models in performance assessment and related areas;
- the delivery of tools and databases to engineers and authorities.
