The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) is an engineering university where the research emphasis is on the fundamental mathematical, natural sciences and engineering subjects. Inorganic chemistry at the Department of Chemistry has the same profile. There is a very strong cooperation between experimental chemistry and quantum chemistry, both with an emphasis on actinide chemistry in solution. Inorganic chemistry has the main responsibility for the undergraduate training in General Chemistry.
On the research side there has always been very strong international research links, mainly with European countries, but also with Japan and USA. A number of students from these countries have made their Ph. D. studies at the department.
