The Immobilisation Science Laboratory (ISL) was established in 2001 as a partnership between the Department of Engineering Materials at the University of Sheffield and BNFL’s Research and Technology Division. Since then ISL has extended its research portfolio to include work with the newly formed Nexia Solutions as well as Nirex, UKAEA and AWE.
