12th International Symposium on the Thermo-chemistry and Thermo-physics of Nuclear Materials
SymposiumDateAug 30 - Sep 3, 2008 LocationPörtschach, Austria |
ST2 NM2008 intends to continue the tradition of a wide scope of different applications in combination with fundamental thermodynamics in a broader sense including relevant physical properties and electrochemistry. The Symposium on Thermochemistry and Thermo-physics of Nuclear Materials is one of the oldest in the field of nuclear technology starting out in Vienna, Austria in 1962 under the auspices of the IAEA. During the past 40 years the subjects of the meeting gradually changed from fundamental thermodynamics of actinoids and their compounds to more applied studies including fusion materials, fission product chemistry and structural materials. The 12th Symposium, ST2 NM2008, in this series intends to continue the tradition of a wide scope of different applications in combination with fundamental thermodynamics in a broader sense including relevant physical properties and electrochemistry. Recent energy issues will make ST2 NM2008 a timely conference and will be an excellent forum to present and to assess the current and future status of the field of thermodynamics and thermo-physics of nuclear materials. |
